He will now compete at the national level.

The Sons of the American Revolution conducts a contest each year to recognize educators who distinguish themselves in teaching the history of the American Revolution. The contest, which is open to elementary, middle and high school American history teachers, includes an essay portion where applicants must write about their teaching and describe any extraordinary techniques or innovative projects, they use to teach the American Revolution.

“An integral part of our society’s community work with youth is honoring American history teachers who teach the history of the American Revolution,” said Maple. “We honor these extraordinary educators at private, public and parochial institutions who teach our children in an elementary, middle or high school setting, for actively addressing the history of the American Revolutionary era.”
