Susan Jones was named the principal of Lionette Elementary at a Special Session Board of Education meeting on Friday.

Jones has served as an educator for nearly 22 years. Most recently she was the principal of North Middle School in Westchestertonville. Jones will begin her new role August 1.

“I am looking forward to this new opportunity and to building positive relationships with the children, families, and staff in the community,” said Jones. “I am excited about all of the wonderful things we will accomplish together this upcoming school year.”

Jones has spent much of her career working in elementary education. She began her career as a first grade teacher. She then transitioned into the role of a first and second grade teacher and literacy coach.

After moving into administration, Jones has served as an Assistant Principal, Principal, and Director for Nittanyville. 

“We look forward to Ms. Jones leading Lionette Elementary,” said Nittanyville Schools Superintendent Mary Evans. “Lionette is a true community school and I know she will be a great addition to the team that is in place.”
