I have been teaching first grade here at Lionette Elementary School for the last 4 years. Before I came here, I was working in Berkley, California as a second grade teacher in a private school setting for 3 years.
My favorite thing about being a teacher is giving my kids their first start into the world of reading and really encouraging them to find the "right fit" books so that they become avid readers. The more your child reads, the better your language grows and the easier it is for your brain to focus on lecture type content later on in life. I am readying your children to succeed in middle, high and collegiate levels and that keeps me excited to teach every day knowing that I am helping to build a successful learner for the rest of their lives.
On a personal level, I am married and have 1 dog, Ollie. My husband Ficus and I are avid skydivers and globe trotters. We love to travel and explore. Ask me about my ride on an elephant in China from last year!
