Michael has worked in the child and youth development field for over 25 years and has been a parent in the Sacramento City Unified School District since 2003. He earned a Baccalaureate Degree in Child Development and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration from Sacramento State University.

Since 2000 Michael has lived in the Tallac Village area of Sacramento with his wife Rachel, who runs a nonprofit youth literacy program, and their children. His daughter Josephine is currently a high school student and his son Hank graduated in 2016.

As your representative for SCUSD School Board Area 4, Michael’s priorities include amplifying youth voice, strengthening the connection between schools and neighborhoods, and making quality education accessible to all students.
